Butterfly Valves
A butterfly valve is a type of quarter-turn valve that regulates the flow of fluid through a pipeline by rotating a disc, called the “butterfly,” within the valve body. The disc is mounted on a spindle, and when the valve is open, the disc is turned parallel to the flow, allowing unobstructed passage for the fluid. When the valve is closed, the disc is turned perpendicular to the flow, blocking the passage.
