Traffic and Road Signs

Traffic and road signs can be classified into three main categories: regulatory signs, warning signs, and guide signs.

  • Regulatory signs: These signs indicate the rules and regulations that road users must follow. They are usually red, white, black, or blue in color. They can have different shapes, such as circles, squares, rectangles, or octagons. Some examples of regulatory signs are stop signs, yield signs, speed limit signs, no parking signs, no entry signs, and one way signs.
  • Warning signs: These signs alert road users to potential hazards or dangers ahead. They are usually yellow, orange, or black in color. They can have different shapes, such as triangles, diamonds, or pentagons. Some examples of warning signs are curve signs, intersection signs, railroad crossing signs, school zone signs, and animal crossing signs.
  • Guide signs: These signs provide information or directions to road users. They are usually green, blue, brown, or white in color. They can have different shapes, such as rectangles, squares, or arrows. Some examples of guide signs are route signs, destination signs, service signs, and landmark signs.
